ABOUT US

OUR IDENTITY

TRADITIONAL IN WORSHIP: Our worship is based in words and patterns developed by Christian leaders throughout the ages. We profess our faith using traditional liturgies such as the Apostle's Creed and the Lord's Prayer, and our music is inspired by the United Methodist Hymnal, with some occasional contemporary flourishes.

CONTEMPORARY IN THOUGHT: We seek to live out the gospel in the here and now.

So, we work together as a church to joyfully meet the challenges of the world today.

EMBRACING IN FELLOWSHIP: We seek to heartily and wholly welcome each person who comes into the church, from wherever you have been. You are welcome here.

OUR HISTORY

Monticello First United Methodist Church began in 1808 as a small community of  Methodist Christians dedicated to loving God and loving neighbor

in Jasper County, Georgia.

Although the church has been through many changes, we hold fast on our commitment to the mission of the United Methodist Church: making disciples for the transformation of the world.
