UNITED METHODIST MEN (UMM)

The United Methodist Men meet for breakfast on the first Sunday of each month at 8:00 am in the Fellowship Hall for fellowship and ministry planning. They are well-known for their Chicken-Q and brunswick stew fundraisers, which help to support our local partnerships and other ministries
of the church.

YOUTH MINISTRY
METHODIST WOMEN IN FAITH

The Methodist Women in Faith meet for lunch each first Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall.

(Meetings will resume in the Fall).

They are most known for hosting birthday parties at the Jasper Memorial Retreat and creating baskets to show appreciation for
the sheriff's office.

CONGREGATIONAL CARE MINISTRY (CCM)

The Youth Ministry serves youths grades 7-12
in partnership with Monticello Presbyterian Church. They meet each Sunday night at the Youth House on Maddox Street from
5:30 - 7:00
PM for games, Bible lessons, fellowship and more.

JOY GROUP

The Joy Group gathers on the third Wednesday of each month for lunch, socializing, and to hear a program given by one of the members or a guest speaker.

The Congregational Care Ministry seeks to care for and restore people in the congregation who are experiencing significant life changes, from the birth of a new child to the death of a loved one. Our Congregational Care Ministers (CCMs) aid the pastor to visit the homebound and hospitalized and to stay in touch with those who cannot attend in person. Congregational Care includes bereavement meals for families at funerals and attending to prayer requests.

TEMPLE BUILDERS

The Temple Builders exercise together using a combination of cardio, weight-lifting, and spiritual encouragement. They meet every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall.

CHANCEL CHOIR

The Chancel Choir assists in leading the music and hymns each Sunday in worship. They rehearse each
Sunday after Service until 1:00, and on Wednesday at 6:00 when needed.

Our church will host the Community Christmas Cantata this December.

New members are always welcome!

 

The Jasper County Community

Food Bank provides groceries for households experiencing food insecurity in Jasper County and beyond. They have a Mobile Day on the 4th Thursday of the Month from 1:00 – 4:30 PM (excluding Holidays). They are open for regular distribution every other Thursday of the month from 9:30 - 1:00 PM. Monticello First UMC provides volunteers, financial support, and non-perishable food items for donation.
